Welcome! As the new owners/operators of the Z Bar Cabins and Motel along with our children - the Z Bar has become a great place for us to put down our roots in this beautiful mountain community. Through the years of construction and renovations, most of the cabins have been restored to their original charm and beauty of post World War II America in which they were built while more updates are planned and on the way.

After serving in the United States Army Air Force during World War II, Tom Zeiser built the original small log cabins using hand hewn, Swedish cope logs. The logs were cut from the Big Horn Mountains, just

up the road of what is now Highway 16 West - the gateway to the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park. The fireplace in the lobby was built using stones gathered from Clear Creek, which runs through the town of Buffalo, Wyoming.

With many attractions and landmarks within a short drive from the cabins you will find Buffalo is truly an iconic western location that still keeps that down home, comfortable feel that you don't find in many places these days. From Yellowstone to the Black Hills and every place in between you will surely find something that will make a memorable experience to our neck of the woods during your visit. We strive to provide our guests with a clean, comfortable, cozy, rustic, and personal touch that we feel is second to none.

That's what makes the Z Bar Cabins and Motel special; the people, the nature,

the history, the down-home feel of our town reflected in our cabins and motel.

OUR STORY

WHAT OUR GUESTS HAVE TO SAY

Last minute change of plans worked out perfectly!

I happened upon this motel after a camping debacle that left me looking for a place to stay the night near Bighorn National Forest. My husband googled motels in the area and this one popped up with a high rating and a very reasonable price. It was late in the evening (9pm) when I stopped in hoping to find a room available. The gentleman at the desk (George) was very kind and very helpful. He got me fixed up with a room within a matter of minutes. The room was cozy and bright and had a rustic/staying at my grandparents' house sort of feel. The room and bathroom were clean and well stocked. The soap and shampoo for the bathroom were organic/natural, which is always a nice surprise. The atmosphere was relaxed and quiet. I appreciated the fact that the room came with a fridge and microwave, as well as WIFI. I would recommend this motel to anyone traveling to Buffalo or visiting Bighorn National Forest.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay in Buffalo. We've never been to the Z-Bar before and we thought it was a very unique beautiful motel. The rooms were very nice and neat and such a wonderful staff. I recommend staying there the next time for any trip and thanks for having us.
